Have you heard about the recent changes at Companies House?

Published: 18/06/2025 By David Payne

From April 2025, anyone who sets up, runs, owns, or files for a UK company with Companies House will need to verify their identity. This is part of a new set of rules under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act.

You may have already had communication directly from Companies House about the changes, but in short:

  • Directors, Persons with Significant Control (PSCs), and anyone filing company information will need to confirm who they are
  • This can be done online via GOV.UK One Login or through a registered authorised corporate service provider like turpin barker armstrong
  • Once verified, you’ll get a unique 11-digit ID code to use in future filings

You can do this yourself free via GOV.UK:  https://www.gov.uk/guidance/verify-your-identity-for-companies-house

Or, if you'd prefer a little help, we can handle it for you. We are offering a simple service to our clients which takes care of everything for £90 + VAT per person.

If you would like to use this service, please get in touch and we can let you know the next steps.
