From April 2025, anyone who sets up, runs, owns, or files for a UK company with Companies House will need to verify their identity. This is part of a new set of rules under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act.You may have already had communication directly from Companies House about the changes, but in short:
- Directors, Persons with Significant Control (PSCs), and anyone filing company information will need to confirm who they are
- This can be done online via GOV.UK One Login or through a registered authorised corporate service provider like turpin barker armstrong
- Once verified, you’ll get a unique 11-digit ID code to use in future filings
