Why Audit still matters

There’s a tendency to view audits as a “necessary evil”  a compliance exercise that ticks a regulatory box.

However, every year, I’m reminded of the significant value an independent audit brings. It’s not just about verifying numbers; it’s about building trust. Investors, lenders, employees, and even directors gain confidence from knowing the figures have been tested objectively.
 
In uncertain times, that credibility matters more than ever. An audit helps to highlight business risks, internal controls, and decision-making often prompting discussions that lead to stronger processes and better overall management of the business.
 
It’s easy to forget that assurance is one of the few services that truly benefits everyone who reads a set of accounts.
 
Valuable insights can be uncovered from an audit.
